在林分调查工作中,解析木各龄阶材积的测算,过去均采用传统的区分段求积法。这种方法精度较高,但因每个断面均需截取圆盘,每个圆盘均需查数年轮数,并按互相垂直的两个方向分别量测各龄阶的直径,故工作量较大。在用材林基地立地分类、评价及适地适树研究中,我们以南方西部片区南岭山地大坪林场为试点,按照操作细则的要求,采用二元立木材积表(方程V=aD~bH~c),求算解析木各龄阶的材积,简化了树干解析的方法,减少了工作量。具体作法是:
