本文以V100．4型内燃机车为例，叙述了德国对工矿机车的现代化改造，在改造中，将型号为12KVD21－A－3、功率736kW、转达1500r／min的柴油机换成了型号为3512DITA、功率1140kW、转速1700r／min的Caterpillar柴油机，安装了Krauss－Maffei公司的KM－DIREKT电子控制系统及遥控装置，采用了带液力变矩器的传动箱，从而提高了机车的功率，完善了机车的监控功能。还极大地改善了运行状态。另外，还采取了一系列保护环境的措施。机车改造后的型号为V150。
