Photoplethysmography is a simple, low-cost technique that can be used to monitor changes in the volume of blood in capillaries. Due to its portability and non-invasiveness, the data collected by this technology contains many physiological information of the human body, which can bring convenience to clinical medicine and personal daily health monitoring and has broad application prospect. Photoplethysmography generally consists of a high-frequency component (AC) and a low-frequency component (DC), corresponding to changes in the blood volume of the cardiovascular system and respiration, human tissue, blood components and so on. Although the exact cause of photoplethysmography is still under investigation, a variety of important cardiovascular system information can still be obtained.
