Branson is aware of the fact that choosing an adventure is likely to fail, but not taking a risky step and never will have the chance to turn back. In January 1997, Richard Branson and his good friend Perl Lindstein started their global balloon tour. The balloon crashed in Algiers, in the middle of the Sahara, due to a breakdown of the fuel system. Incredibly, Branson actually unharmed. He was sitting in the desert, solemnly vowing never to do such an adventure in the future - but his oath lasted only less than two years. In 1998, Branson took a newly designed balloon and started another round trip around the world.
