Sc704玉米在新疆表现适应性强、丰产性能好、增产效果显著(亩产可达750公斤以上),且成熟后茎秆青绿,适于青贮,作为牲畜过冬饲草,倍受农民欢迎,农民对其种子需求量越来越多.但本品种由于亲本尚存在一些问题,其丰产潜力未能充分发挥出来.其主要问题有三:一是机械混杂,主要是脱粒、晾晒过程中混入了其它玉米品种的籽粒;二是引进材料本身不纯,据我们测定,亲本中正、反交杂种植株、回交后代植株及各种变异植株的总数为1%以上;三是本品种亲本引进时间短,许多农户对其典型性还不甚了解,提纯保纯有一定困难.为了充分发挥Sc704玉米的增产潜力,我们将其亲本的提纯保纯方法介绍于下,以供参考.
