在中国现代文学教学中,茅盾与自然主义有一个较复杂的关系。一方面茅盾在理论和创作上都受着自然主义的影响,另一方面茅盾本人在很长的历史时期又不愿意承认这一点。《子夜》虽然在一定程度上受了左拉《金钱》的影响,但茅盾对于自然主义重在艺术上的借鉴,而并非思想内容上的摹仿;他对所接受的自然主义进行了新的阐释,重在承继一种“为人生”的科学精神,以创建对中国社会进行深入剖析的“写实主义”。
In the teaching of modern Chinese literature, Mao Dun and naturalism have a more complicated relationship. On the one hand, Mao Dun was influenced by naturalism both in theory and in creation.
