陇右大地,具有悠久而优秀的文化传统,培育了一代又一代的杰出人物。这些杰出人物的活动与创造,不仅增添了我国各个历史时期文化的新内容,而且也推动了各个历史时期陇右文化的新发展。他们之中,不少人给我们遗留下了丰富多采的创作和著述,并已成为我国文化遗产的一部分,为了使人们了解陇右典籍的基本情况,现扼要介绍一些重要的作者和典籍。 一、王符《潜夫论》 王符（约85—162）,字节信,安定临泾（今甘肃镇原）人,是我国著名的哲学家、政论家和思想家。他出身寒微,通过刻苦好学,名闻朝野。他生活在东汉和帝至桓帝之际,正是黄巾起义的前夕。虽然“当途者”多次荐引,而他却独标耿介的高节,不求仕进,专心隐居著述,讥议时政得失,最后完成了政论专著《潜夫论》10卷36篇。这些论述,大多是治国安民、指讦时政的政论,也涉及到了许多哲学、历史、军事、方技等方面的学术问题,充分体现了他进步的政治主张和渊博的文化知识,千百年来一直受到人们的推重。范晔在《后汉书》里把他和王充、仲长统合传;韩愈在《后汉三贤赞》中,又称颂他们是这一时代贤良的杰出代表;后人也一直把《潜夫论》和王充的《论衡》、仲长统的《昌言》看作是东汉最有影响的三部杰出的著作。《四库全书总目提要》上说:“今以三家之书相较,
