“Long Day Scratch” is a masterpiece of British black novels writer Ishiguro Ishiguro who won one of the highest awards in the British literary world “Booker Award.” The book tells the story of a British housekeeper living in Darlington before and after World War II, showing the clash between traditional British values and modern society. The emotional expression of the hero Stevens is subtle and restrained, but through the analysis of the narrative skills in the book, the reader can understand Stevens’ real heart more fully and compare his true feelings with his father, his employer and his sweetheart Deep feelings.
