天津简称津,别名津沽、津门、天津卫等。现在天津所处的位置原来是海,位于海河五水汇合流入渤海处,黄河改道前由泥沙冲积形成初形。战国和秦始皇时期,这里已经出现较为密集的村落,西汉开始,天津辖管泉州(今武清)、东平舒(今黄骅)、章武(今静海)等地。
Tianjin referred to Tianjin, alias Jingu, Tianjin Gate, Tianjin Wei and so on. Tianjin is now located in the original location of the sea, located in the convergence of the five rivers of the Haihe River into the Bohai Sea, the Yellow River diversion formed by sediment alluvial. During the Warring States Period and Qin Shi Huang period, the more dense villages have emerged here. Beginning in the Western Han Dynasty, Tianjin administered Quanzhou (now Wuqing), Dongpingshu (now Huanghua) and Zhangwu (now Jinghai).
