After three years of national cotton variety regional trial monitoring, “Jinmian 1” and “Jinzhong 200” proved to be a new variety suitable for breeding and pre-mature cotton area. “Jinmian 1” was selected from successive single plants of “Jinyou 9”, a hybrid offspring of “Guannong 1” × “Siqianmian” by Jinzhou Agricultural Science Institute. Formerly known as “Jinjiu -218-78”, the number of days from planting to bolting in Jinzhou was 146 days, with 7.1-11.9 bolls per plant and 4.6-5.5 bolls
