Studies have shown that HBV infection can cause liver immune damage. In the past, adaptive immune responses were thought to play a major role in the anti-HBV infection of the body and the liver lesions caused by it. Now studies have confirmed that the liver, known as the “natural innate immune core organ”, possesses a large number of natural immune cells and plays an important role in the process of HBV infection and is likely to directly determine the clinical outcome and prognosis of acute HBV infection. Acute HBV infection is the initial stage of infection after the onset of hepatitis B, is the key to cure hepatitis B and prevent the conversion to chronic hepatitis B. Studying the role and mechanism of natural immune cells in acute HBV infection is of great significance in clarifying the pathogenesis of HBV immunity, guiding clinical science in antiviral therapy and preventing the chronic development of acute infection.
