本文主要就槟城乔治市和马六甲从提名到成功登录世界文化遗产名录之整个作业过程作出论述,并针对槟城乔治市发展的变化作一般性的记录评析。笔者投入古迹保存工作多年,曾参与申报登录世界文化遗产名录的流程,深感拥有百年历史的槟城华团组织,应该更加关心槟城登录为世界文化遗产之后及其永续经营的发展趋势的重要性。有鉴于此,特撰写专文以介绍世界遗产的概念及槟城申报登录为世界遗产及其永续经营的重大意义。槟城与马六甲联名申遗
