约翰·珀斯第勒(John Postil)的《互联网在地化的人类学研究》(Localizing the Internet:An Anthropological Account)是用人类学民族志的方法研究互联网地在地化的代表性著作;他这部著作通过翔实的田野个案,给读者生动呈现了互联网社会关系的地方化生产与建构过程,受到学术界好评,虽已出版多年,仍堪称互联网在地化发展研究的民族志范例。而他书中那个名叫苏邦加雅(Subang Jaya)的田野研究地则恰巧是个多面环山的城市。因此,在当下亟须对山地民族的互联网行为开展深入调查研究的背景下,我们选译了周永明这篇书评,以期为我国的互联网人类学研究者提供有益的学术前沿动态信息。
John Postil’s “Localizing the Internet: An Anthropological Account” is a representative book on the localization of the Internet using anthropological ethnography; he This book vividly presents the local production and construction process of Internet social relations through informative field cases. It is praised by academics and published for many years. It is still an example of ethnography in which the Internet is developing in the field. And the fieldwork in his book called Subang Jaya happens to be a multi-faceted city. Therefore, against the backdrop of the urgent need to conduct an in-depth investigation and study of the Internet behaviors of mountain peoples, we have translated Zhou Yongming’s book review in order to provide helpful information on the academic frontier for Internet-based anthropological researchers in our country.
