美国教育家布鲁诺说过:“教一门学科,不是建立一个小型的图书馆,而是要学生独立思考,像一名数学家那样考虑数学,像一名历史学家那样考虑史学,积极参与到获得知识的过程中去。”他提倡让学生自己探索事物,发现知识,并由自己作结论和进行概括。他认为,要注重学生的理解和发现,要注重在学校里培养学生独立工作的能力。由此可见,在初中教学中发展学生的智力,培养学生的能力已成为发展素质教育,提高教育质量的一个重要课题。
