剪纸始于东方,世界五大洲都有剪纸。据可靠资料或见到的实物,德国、法国、英国、荷兰、意大利、丹麦、波兰、奥地利、匈牙利、前捷克、瑞士、以色列、前苏联、墨西哥、美国、加拿大等国也流传剪纸。但造纸术是中国的发明,中国剪纸历史最悠久,日本学者称中国是剪纸的“故乡”。
Paper-cut began in the East, the world’s five continents have paper-cut. According to reliable information or real objects, paper cuts are also circulating in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Austria, Hungary, the former Czech Republic, Switzerland, Israel, the former Soviet Union, Mexico, the United States and Canada. However, papermaking is an invention of China. China has the oldest paper-cutting history. Japanese scholars claim that China is the “hometown” of paper-cutting.
