横山大观,日本无人不识的国民书画家,日本画的一代巨匠。为了纪念这位逝世半世纪的巨匠,现在他毕生的作品将会尽数在国立新美术馆展出。横山生于1858年,逝世于1958年,经历日本全面对外开放的明治时代和日本的战后时期,是一位创意澎湃的画家。他既是日本画的大家,也是将西洋的画风溶入日本画的先驱者,他的画作继承了日本画和中国水墨画的画风,又溶入西洋画的特点,雾意迷蒙的画风,正是他融汇中西的实验画法。
Yokoyama Grand View, Japan, no one knows the national painter, Japanese painting generation master. To commemorate this master who died half a century, his life’s work will now be displayed at the National Gallery of Art. Yokoyama was born in 1858 and died in 1958. After Meiji Era Japan experienced full-scale opening up and Japan’s post-war period, he was a creative painter. He is both a Japanese painter and a forerunner of Western style in Japanese painting. His paintings inherit the style of Japanese painting and Chinese ink painting, dissolute into the characteristics of Western painting, It is his fusion of Chinese and Western experimental painting.
