Many gold mines experience the mineralization of copper, which causes problems in the gold mining operations. This article examines various types of gold-copper deposits and various ways to solve the problem of copper mineralization. In some cases, copper and gold can be enriched to the concentrate grade by flotation and additionally copper and gold can be selectively leached. When both copper and gold cyanide are present in the solution, it is possible to minimize the amount of copper supported on the copper or to selectively desorb the copper from the char. This article also discusses leaching solutions such as thiourea and bromine and reports on the leaching results obtained using this system based on the author’s current understanding of the chemistry of ammonia / cyanide systems.
