在竖井罐笼提升系统中,对于升降人员或物料的罐笼必须装设安全可靠的防坠器。防坠器的型式,取决于竖井罐道的结构形式和布置方式。按罐道型式罐笼防坠器可分类成木、钢轨和钢绳罐道防坠器。其中木罐道极易腐蚀、维修量大,且防坠器极难保证使制动减速度限制在允许范围之内,因而实现可靠而平稳地制动罐笼是较困难的。因此,一般新建矿井或改建矿井均不再采用木罐道防坠器。
