卢光琇是中国知识分子中的杰出女性,被公认为我国生殖遗传学的开创者。20多年来,卢教授和她率领的中南大学湘雅医学院人类生殖工程研究室取得了举世瞩目的成就,人们出自内心地称卢教授为“中国试管婴儿之母”。卢光琇创建了中国生殖工程的10个全国第一:我国第一个人类冷冻精子库,第一例冷冻精液人工授精婴儿,第一个供胚移植试管婴儿,第一个人类冷冻胚胎库,第一个植入前胚胎遗传学诊断小鼠模型,第一例畸型精子分离术治疗后诞生的正常婴儿,第一个精子显微授精小鼠模型,第一个核移植小鼠,第一个人类克隆胚,第一例经超快速冷冻胚移植的试管婴儿,并成功建立了治疗性人体细胞克隆胚技术。这些具有重要理论价值和临床实践意义的成果,为我国的计划生育和优生优育的开展,以及有效地遏制遗传疾病,提高人口素质提供了新的方法和途径。治疗性人体克隆技术的建立,使临床移植组织,器官供体来源不足和异体免疫排斥的问题有望解决,
Lu Guangtao is an outstanding woman among Chinese intellectuals and is widely recognized as the pioneer of reproductive genetics in our country.
