As teams rush to announce new 2008 cars, everyone turns their attention to winter testing, but just as in previous years, there were not many tests of true contrast before the start of the new season. Therefore, it has also caused people’s misjudgment and bias. But I would like to make a technical briefing on the parts involved in testing a new car as a way of judging the performance of a new car. In recent years, with the rapid development of F1 technology, it has become more and more difficult to judge the actual strength of teams in pre-race tests. However, we can still find clues from these seemingly hazy tests. In this year’s winter test, I found that many of the fleets will carry it out thoroughly. The general trend is: hubcap use, side box compression and wheelbase lengthening, but there are still some of the new design team put into the test. Below we will find out the similarities and differences between them by comparing the design of the various parts of the car.
