Objective To understand the impact of onychomycosis on the quality of life of patients. Methods The internationally accepted semi-fixed questionnaire was conducted by a specialist on-site survey. Results A total of 118 cases of onychomycosis were investigated. There were 52 males (44.1%) and 66 females (55.9%). 79 cases of toenail fungal disease (66.9%), 70 cases of nail fungal disease (59.3%), 31 cases (26.3%) of nails and nails were involved. 79 (66.9%) were affected by subjective health perception, 108 (91.5%) were affected by emotion, 111 (94.1%) were affected by thinking, and 102 (86.4%) were with social disturbance. Females with onychomycosis were significantly more affected by emotion and thinking than men (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in scores of quality of life between patients with different course of disease (P> 0.05). The course of disease was positively correlated with social disturbance (r = 0.210, P <0.05). The number of disease A was positively correlated with subjective health factors (r = 0.206, P <0.05) and affective factors (r = 0.290, P <0.01). Nail involvement was positively correlated with subjective health factors (r = 0.258) and social disturbance factors (r = 0.252) (P <0.01). Conclusion Onychomycosis not only affects the patient’s finger, nail function and appearance, but also has a certain impact on the quality of life of patients.
