The gardens and landscapes of the Greenline Children’s Illustration create a wonderland-like environment for elegant, pure characters. This ecological environment is a refuge for urban industrial development in Victorian culture and is a gazebo and oasis in masonry and concrete deserts. Greennaway constructed the space for character images as well as constructed a spatial representation of female identity. The scenes of home and garden spaces such as gardens and countryhouses reiterated the traditional gender ideology and became an important performance stage of Victorian female character coding. It was a reflection of the home culture and the British imperialist world outlook, and to some extent, the inner thoughts of Greeniner.
