In the UK, we set up a three-month extensive reading class using graduation. It contains a test group of English as a second language and two control groups. Inspired by Krashen’s “Input Hypothesis”, this program was set up to investigate whether reading for pleasure can improve the subject’s language skills, especially in reading and writing skills. The results showed that the over-test subjects’ language behaviors were significantly improved, especially in writing skills. There are many ways to introduce the extensive course.
