“文化研究学派”开创了文化、媒介文化研究的一代新风,为学界研究提供了一种崭新的学术视野和研究范式。本文分析了“英国文化研究学派”的跨学科研究视野、对“大众”与“大众文化”的研究立场、研究方法与研究特色,认为该学派具有跨学科、多学科的广阔视野,以及对“大众”、“大众”文化更为折衷、平衡的研究视角,对电视文化研究提供了民族志、符号学等新的研究视角与研究方法,以及关注社会现实的研究特色,其研究对于中国电视研究具有重要的启发意义。
