金江波长期从事多媒体艺术创作,注重与国际间观众的实时交流。但他近期开始更为关注中国社会现场,对当下市场发展的种种“非自然”状况进行文化研究性质的探究,并主要用摄影的方式进行记录。这些摄影作品看似接近纪实照片,但他认为这恰是拓展已有的艺术范畴,更加具体、微观的研究和批判现场,并提供一种跨学科的资源。在对中国市场进行探究的过程中,他发现一些独特性,尤其是其外强中干、重量轻质,以及从经商者单向度地视市场收益为人生最大目标。同时,他也扩展视野,关注古建筑的拆迁、围海造田等非理性社会行为。他认为自己有责任关注本土的严峻现实问题,而且,只有本土的真实问题,才能给国际间真正意义上的交流提供一种健康、良性的文化资源。
Jin Jiang wave long engaged in multimedia art creation, focusing on real-time exchanges with the international audience. However, he has recently started to pay more attention to the scene of Chinese society and to explore the nature of cultural studies on the various “unnatural” conditions in current market developments and record them mainly in the form of photography. These photographic works appear to be close to documentary photographs, but he believes it is precisely to expand existing art categories to more specific and microcosmic research and critical scenes and to provide an interdisciplinary resource. In the process of exploring the Chinese market, he found some uniqueness, especially his super-strong and light weight, as well as the one-size-fits-all view of market returns as his biggest goal in his life. At the same time, he also broadened his horizons, concerned about the demolition of ancient buildings, reclamation and other irrational social activities. He believes that he has the responsibility to pay attention to the harsh realities of the local community. Moreover, only local real problems can provide a healthy and benign cultural resource for truly international exchanges.
