Hashimo’s thyroiditis is one of the most common thyroid diseases. Its pathological features are thyroid lymphocyte infiltration and fibrosis, as well as elevated levels of circulating autoantigenic anti-thyroid antibodies. Recently, Duclos et al reported that anti-HCV was found to be highly prevalent in the serum of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis patients. We measured anti-HCV titers in 180 different thyroid diseases to explore their intrinsic relationship. Objects and methods First, the patient: (A) simple goiter: 50 cases (5 males and 45 females), aged 17 to 38 years. (B) Graves disease: 30 cases (7 males and 23 females), aged 25 to 48 years old. (C) Thyroid adenoma or cysts: 40 cases (11 males and 29 females), including 18 cysts and 22 adenomas. Age 14 to 68 years old.
