The wireless connected world has always been occupied by proprietary products targeted at professional markets. But as more vendors adopt the IEEE 802.11 standard, manufacturers are working hard to make their products interoperable to reach mainstream corporate users. The Bay Networks BayStack 600 family of 802.11-compliant standards uses features such as frequency translation and direct sequence technology.
