引言大家都知道,许多在课堂里学习过几年外语的人,都不能够完全适应与说本族语人交谈的语境。当需要他们熟练地运用说话规则自行使用时,他们时常会感到力不从心。这就要涉及到交谈技巧,不是语法规则。比如,他们有可能不知如何在不同的场合介绍自己,取得发言机会;如何打断别人的谈话,建立亲密的关系或保持一定的社交距离;他们往往只是局限于一种交谈形式。因此,要给语言学习者提供与操本族语言的各种人进行真实的非固定方式的交流机会。本文将社会语言实地调查的技术应用于教学,把课堂外面的世界和学校这个更具有结构性的环境结合起来。
INTRODUCTION Everyone knows that many people who have studied in a foreign language for several years in a classroom can not fully adapt to the context of speaking with a native speaker. They often feel overwhelmed when they need to be proficient in using the rules of speech. This involves conversation skills, not grammar rules. For example, they may not know how to introduce themselves to speaking on different occasions, how to interrupt other people’s conversations, establish intimate relationships, or maintain social distance; they are often confined to a form of conversation. Therefore, it is necessary to provide language learners with opportunities to exchange real and unfixed ways with various people who speak the native language. This article applies the techniques of social language fieldwork to teaching, combining the world outside the classroom with the more structured school environment.
