黎元洪(1864～1928),湖北黄陂人,字宋卿。1912年,当选为南京临时政府副总统,仍兼鄂督。袁世凯窃权后继任。1915年,袁称帝时,被封为武义亲王,未受。袁死后,继任总统职。1917年,与国务总理段祺瑞产生府院之争,被张勋利用,后为段祺瑞赶走。1922年,直系军控制北京政府后,请他复职。次年,又为直系所逐。曾秘密经上海另组政府,失败后去日本。1928年6月,在天津病故。
