酷吏的行为常常被人当作官员的榜样,是好政治的一种,他们不瞻前顾后,不徇私情,做事果断,甚至是手段霹雳。但我在此提醒,还需要认识到酷吏冷血的一面,为达到目的不择手段,且常采用极端的手段,这样的官员多了,世间的生态会缺少温暖感。司马迁和班固著史,把官员分为循吏和酷吏两种。循吏循礼恤情、守职有度,酷吏政声酷烈,尽职过度。《史记》记载了十一位酷吏,《汉书》记载了十四位,令人反思的是,酷吏的政绩斐然,但人生结局多为悲剧。郅都就是这样的一位。
