前视红外系统(FLIR)是将目标和背景的红外辐射转变为视频信号并以电视方式直接显示出来的系统,主要用在飞机和导弹上。它作为一种重要的机载无源探测夜视设备和武器精确制导火控设备,在海湾战争的夜间对地攻击中发挥了巨大作用,引起世界各国军方的普遍关注。战后在世界范围内掀起了前视红外热。目前,前视红外系统已成为研制未来作战飞机和改装现役作战飞机航空电子设备的重要项目之一。它以高技术装备的地位被列入近几年美国国防部关键技术计划之中。前视红外系统主要由光学系统、红外探测器、电子系统和显示装置等组成。其核心是成像器,它仅仅接收被探测目标自身辐射的热能——中、长波红外,并将其变换成反映目标特征的实时红外图像。前视红外系统不像雷达那样因发射电磁波而易被敌方探测和干扰。
The Forward Looking Infrared System (FLIR) is a system that converts infrared radiation from a target and a background into a video signal and displays it directly on television, primarily on aircraft and missiles.
