高士尊的大写意花鸟画,纵横恣肆,不拘绳墨,挥毫落墨,性情为之。属风格野逸的一路。高士尊毕业于中央工艺美术学院,对装饰绘画、民间绘画、西方现代绘画颇有研究。他又是一位收藏家,彩陶、石雕、木雕、家具、鸟笼尽在爱好之中。他兴趣广泛,视野开阔,又是性情中人,他的画可说是心血来潮的产物,乘兴命笔,一吐块垒。高士尊酷爱书法艺术,常年临池不辍,篆书、草书、行书都下过工夫。他的书法笔道求苍厚,运笔求纵逸,结体求气势。他把书法寓于画法,其笔墨语言蕴含着书法的灵性和形式美感。
