19世纪中叶以后,资本主义列强频频入侵中国,晚清海防、塞防同时告急,在抵抗外侮的过程中,涌现出了一批不屈不挠的仁人志士,左宗棠是其中很突出的一位。左宗棠最杰出的历史贡献是力排众议,率军西征,收复新疆。左宗棠是一位在半封建、半殖民地时代没有奴颜媚骨,敢于坚决抵抗外侮的民族英雄。
Since the middle of the 19th century, the capitalist powers frequently invaded China. In the late Qing Dynasty, the Haiphong and Cypriot anti-Japanese defenses were at the same time in an emergency. During the course of resisting foreign aggression, a group of persevering benevolent lofty ideals emerged. Zuo Zongtang was one of the most prominent ones. Tso Tsung-tang’s most outstanding historical contribution is to make concerted efforts and lead the army in expedition to recover Xinjiang. Zuo Zongtang is a national hero who has no slavery in the semi-feudal and semi-colonial era and resolutely resists foreign aggression.
