松树沟超基性岩体位于北秦岭东段南侧商丹深断裂带的北侧,侵入于太古界斜长角闪片岩中.岩体主要由蛇纹石化细粒纯橄岩组成,内含中粗粒纯橄岩和斜辉辉橄岩分异体.岩相呈环带状构造,中部岩相内中粗粒纯橄岩分异体很少,边部岩相则含有较多的中粗粒纯橄岩和斜辉辉橄岩分异体.铬矿体即主要赋生于边部岩相中粗粒纯橄岩分异体中.另外,还有晚期透辉岩脉沿两个岩相界面及其两侧断续分布.
