美国一直号称是世界上最开放、最自由的国度,但是在美国,一个孕妇堕胎可能面临着牢狱之灾。每当提到孕妇堕胎问题,支持者(pro-choice)和反对者(pro-life)都会从伦理道德、宪法原则、宗教和医学等方面雄辩一通。美国的历届总统和政客在竞选的时候,也得让公众知道自己在堕胎问题上的态度。
The United States has always claimed to be the most open and free country in the world. However, in the United States, abortion by a pregnant woman may face imprisonment. Whenever reference is made to the issue of abortion in pregnant women, both pro-choice and pro-life speak eloquently about ethics, constitutional principles, religion and medicine. When the U.S. presidents and politicians are running for the election, they must also let the public know about their attitudes toward abortion.
