2001年,对于国产PC服务器厂商来说,似乎到了即将取得历史性突破的关口。就在前不久,浪潮服务器事业部刚刚宣布实施战略转型,要以专家级服务的理念充分满足客户的本地化需求,力争在2003年跃居国内服务器市场的榜首。时隔仅一个月,联想电脑公司也宣布将向处于服务器市场第一阵营的IBM、HP和Compaq等国外大公司发起冲击,计划在2002年第四季度摘取国内服务器市场第一的桂冠。国内两大PC厂商联袂向国外服务器巨人叫板,这在几年前还是不可想像的事情。它从一个侧面说明,国内品牌与国外品牌在市场和技术上的差距进一步缩小。如今,联想、浪潮、方正、金长城等厂商均已进入周内服务器市场销量前10名,与国外品牌呈分庭抗礼之势。尤其是联想和浪潮在不同调查机构最近发布的统计报告中,分别位居国内市场排名第三位,这是国产服务器品牌首次进入三甲,打破了国际品牌长期垄断中国市场的局面。
In 2001, for the domestic PC server vendors, it seems to have reached a historic breakthrough mark. In particular, Lenovo and Inspur ranked the third in the domestic market in the latest statistical reports released by various agencies. This is the first time that a domestic server brand has entered the top three, breaking the long-term monopoly of the Chinese market by international brands.
