朱买臣,西汉昊县人,字翁子。汉武帝时,为中大夫,累官至会稽太守、主爵都尉,位列九卿。这个人流传千古不是因为文章,也不是因为官职,主要因为一段演义过了的《马前泼水》。大意是朱买臣家贫好学,多年科考不中,妻子崔氏女因他没有出息,改嫁他人。后来朱买臣当了大宫,崔氏女看朱买臣富有了,想和朱买巨重归于好。朱买臣拿来一桶水,倒在马车前,对崔氏女说:“如果你能把这桶水收回来,我就同意和你重归于好。”崔氏女悔恨不已。
