In 1976, Mao Zedong was 83 years old. After 10 years of “Cultural Revolution” ups and downs, he was obviously old. When people outside the red wall are still fanatically chanting “long live,” they do not realize that he is suffering from many kinds of diseases of the elderly. It is even difficult to stand up and not to mention walking. Speaking is also very strenuous, only vague words from the throat, even eating has become a big problem. Pulmonary heart disease from time to time plague him, often in a serious hypoxia. Later, he had to rely on oxygen and nasal feeding and other treatments to survive.
