一第二次世界大战损伤了日本经济发展的元气。战争末期遭受美国空军的轰炸,加之广岛、长崎两市被原子弹轰炸,日本全国有119个城市变为废墟。日本岛国本来原材料匮乏,战后初期海上运输又被中断,致使日本经济陷于瘫痪状态,1945年失业人数为413万之多,通货膨胀加剧,社会矛盾尖锐。但是经过二十多年的努力,到60年代末和70年代初,日本的经济发展达到了国际水平(参见表1),以美国诸年国内总生产作为参照系数
A World War II damaged the strength of Japan’s economic development. The end of the war was bombed by the U.S. Air Force. In addition, the two cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed by atomic bombers, and 119 cities nationwide were turned into ruins. Japan’s island countries, which were originally poorly stocked with raw materials, were disrupted by maritime transport in the early postwar period, paralyzing Japan’s economy. As many as 4.13 million people were unemployed in 1945, inflation was aggravated and social conflicts were acute. However, after more than two decades of efforts, by the late 1960s and early 1970s Japan’s economic growth reached the international level (see Table 1).
