下面所講的是波蘭与奥地利兩國科学界的一些觀感,在這些觀感中,就有一個很鮮明的對比。在波闌,科学研究工作正走上欣欣向榮的道路;在奥地利,却在苦悶,停滯在迷惘的深淵里。我们在離開波蘭的兩天,才有机会到华沙大學物理系与物理研究所去參觀,這里設備之豐富,相當於解放前清華大學、北京大學及北平研究院物理研究所物質設備的總和,這样丰富的物质條件,一部份是以前所遺留下來的,而大部分是在解放后后捷克、德、英諸國购買來
What follows is some perceptions of the scientific community in Poland and Austria. In these senses, there is a very sharp contrast. At the time of the wave, scientific research is embarking on a thriving path; in Austria, it is depressing and stagnating in the perplexed abyss.
