对于在重负荷下工作的冷镦模、剪床刀片等常常采用高碳高铬的合金工具钢:Cr12或Cr12MoV,而热锻模则常采用3Cr2W8V钢。大滚刀、大直径的圆盘铣刀则采用高速钢:W9Cr4V,W18Cr4V,以及W6Mo5Cr4V2等。在生产中经常会发生模具损坏的现象。而模具的局部损坏就会使整个模具报废。如果采用适当的焊条,在模具损坏处进行局部的焊补和修复,这样不仅可以节约大量的高合金模具钢,而且可以及时地解决生产的急需。
