Schistosomiasis is widespread in our county, of which the sister township in Dongchang District is one of the popular focuses. Due to the prevalence of the region for many years, the results have seriously affected the production and health of the people, the labor shortage, the low life, and the debilitating body, and the number of people who lost their labor force and lives due to schistosomiasis. It is now estimated that approximately one-quarter of the patients in this township are nearing mid-term or late-stage illness. Although some patients do not have obvious clinical signs, the results of laboratory tests prove that they have contracted the disease and have not been diagnosed because of certain conditions.
