晏西征,湖南省新化县人,湖南省政协委员,中国武术协会委员,湖南省武术协会副主席,湖南省诗词协会副会长,岳麓诗社副社长,娄底市作家协会副主席,当代八卦掌传人,少林梅山派掌门, 技击名家、诗人。1982年创办湖南省东方武术院,任院长兼总教练, 培育了数以万计的武术英才,在国内外武术赛事中荣获奖杯52座, 奖牌528枚。1993年,2005年两次荣获“全国群众体育先进单位”称号。1996年获“全国先进武术院”称号。晏西征本人于1994年由新化县人民政府授予“武林贤师”光荣称号;1995年被国家体委评为中国当代“中华武林百杰”。1998年8月应中国武术协会邀请上京表演八卦掌及梅山拳械,拍成《武林风范》录相带向国内外发行,其拳照套路多次在国内外武术杂志刊出。1998年12月任中国武术代表团副团长到西班牙、法国等四国讲学。2000年12月在
