圣加仑,位于瑞士东部两座高山的山谷之中,地处博登湖和阿尔卑斯山之间,是圣加仑州的首府。名字源自公元7世纪的爱尔兰修道士加卢斯,相传他追随导师科隆邦前往罗马,由于中途患病无法前行,于是留在当地隐修。加卢斯搭建的几间简陋小屋成为圣加仑修道院的雏形。公元9世纪起,加卢斯的传承人在小屋原址兴建学校和图书馆,圣加仑逐步成为欧洲文化和宗教中心之一。这里风景迷人、宁静怡人,色彩缤纷的凸窗是它的特色,充满趣味。
