山东工业大学图书馆现有外文图书１４万册，但实际利用率却很低。造成此状况的原因：其一，经费不足，购不进新书，使得藏书内容陈旧、老化；其二，没有保持某些图书的连续性、系统性；其三，管理服务水平存在某些不足。针对此种状况，采取有效措施，提高外文图书利用率，以不断提高学校教学科研的水平，是图书馆面临的一项现实的课题
Shandong University of Technology Library currently has 140,000 foreign language books, but the actual utilization rate is very low. The reasons for this situation are as follows: First, lack of funds and purchasing of new books make the contents of the books outdated and aging; second, failure to maintain the continuity and systematicness of certain books; thirdly, there are some deficiencies in the management of service standards. In response to this situation, taking effective measures to improve the utilization rate of foreign language books in order to continuously improve the level of teaching and research in schools is a real issue facing the library
