土匪猖獗是民国时期各地普遍存在的社会问题。民国前期四川长期处于军阀混战中,战争直接破坏社会生产;军队往往招匪、纵匪;大量散兵流为土匪。同时期,四川自然灾荒不断;军阀征税无度;地主压榨严重,使农村经济遭受严重破坏。在多种因素共同作用下,大量农民不堪重负而破产,成为土匪的主要来源,随着社会秩序长时期内持续的动荡,导致更多人进入土匪队伍。
The rampant of bandits was a common social problem throughout the Republic of China. In the early period of the Republic of China, Sichuan had been in a vicious warlord for a long time. The war directly undermined social production. The army often recruited bandits and longitudinal bandits. A large number of casualties were bandits. In the same period, natural disasters continued in Sichuan, warlords were experiencing excessive taxation, and the landlords were so heavily squeezed that the rural economy suffered serious damage. Under the combined action of many factors, a large number of peasants overwhelmed and become bankrupt became the main source of banditry. With the continued turmoil in the social order over a long period of time, more people have entered the bandit team.
