口译是指译员在一定的时间内,对源语进行听辨并解码,继而存储信息,创造性的用目标语转述给受众的过程。口译时间的有限性决定了口译中的笔记具有重要意义,而符号系统则是口译笔记中最常使用且最具代表性的笔记系统,它一定程度上弥补了大脑的短时记忆及口译时间紧迫性的缺陷,其简单明了、耗时少的特点确保了译文的精确度。本文以符号系统为基点,阐述符号系统在口译笔记中的应用及其重要性,以便口译工作者充分运用符号系统,促进口译行业的发展。
