为证实夹竹桃的挥发物是否会污染环境或有“致癌物质”,采用气相色谱分析法,在PEG1500色谱柱上,分离夹竹桃释放的气体挥发物。明确,夹竹桃气体挥发物主要组分是:水杨酸甲酯、丙烯酸、丁酮醇、乙酰乙酸乙酯、乙醛、丙烯、乙硫醇、丙烯醛、松油醇、乙硫醚、乙酸乙酯。水杨酸甲酯和丙烯酸占总挥发量的10.52%所以夹竹桃有很强的杀菌能力。丙烯醛的释放,不影响环境质量。夹竹桃的特有刺激性气体,由丙烯酸、乙硫醇、乙醛、乙硫醚组成。
