Bajiao River is located in the hinterland of Hefeng County in the Wuling Mountains of Southwest Hubei Province and is a branch of the right bank of the upper reaches of the river. The Bajiaohe secondary hydropower plant is the second-stage and first-build project for cascade development in the river basin. The project focuses on generating electricity, taking into account water supply, shipping, flood control, aquaculture, and tourism.
