在机器制造过程中,总要用机械加工方法从金属铸件的毛坯上切下若干切屑。机器制造厂每年要加工数以万计的铸件或锻件,因此,被切下来的金属切屑的数量很可观,一般占铸件重量的20%左右,锻件还要多。目前我国机器制造业每年需要金属材料大约100万吨左右,也就是说,每年有20万吨的金属变成了切屑。此外由于对切屑利用不够重视,任它风吹雨打,生锈腐烂,造成了极大的浪费。苏联早在50多年前就开始了切屑重熔的工作。但是限于当时的技术水平,没有得到良好的效果。十几年来,苏联铸造工作者不断地在这方面进行试验研究工作,已经取得极大的成绩,积累了丰富的经验。我国工业建
